Obituary for Victor Manuel Mendoza

Victor Manuel Mendoza Kingsley passed unexpectedly on September 2, 2019. Victor was born in the Domincan Republic on September 25, 1954 to Benjamin Mendoza and Luz Celeste (Kingsley) Mendoza. He came to the United States when he was 9 years old. He lived a large portion of his life in New York City and Michigan but had been living in Orlando, Florida since 2013. Victor is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Celeste. Victor is survived by the mother of his two children - Marsha Higdon - Kalamazoo, his daughter Leah Lucas (Nicholas) of Hastings, his son Justin Mendoza (Izzy) of Washington D.C., and his grandchildren Nolan and Addison Lucas. He is also survived by his brother Benjamin Mendoza (Pat), his sister Ester Mendoza, brother Mario Mendoza (Glenda), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Victor had a passion for everything related to Art and Science Fiction. It was rare that he did not have a pen or pencil in hand, drawing something beautiful. He loved how technology gave him a way to communicate with other artists around the world and he loved sharing his work through Facebook groups and Twitter. Victor was known for his sense of humor and voice impersonations. He could always make the people around him laugh. He was a huge fan of Superman and his ability to fly. May he fly high among the angels now.
