Life Story for Darrel Rugg

Darrel Rugg

Mr. Darrel Rugg, age 65, of Nashville passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Eaton Community Palliative Care, in Charlotte, MI

Darrel was born in Battle Creek, MI on July 10, 1951, the son of the late David and Elizabeth Maryella (Crago) Rugg. He was raised in the Vermontville area and attended local schools

In 1975 he married Toni (Andersen) Rugg. The couple made their home together in the Bellevue area where they raised their family. Darrel and Toni had been married for 27 years.

Darrel worked at CareFree Aluminum, making and loading storm windows, Denso Manufacturing, and was the sexton at Hillside Cemetery in Kalamo for several years.

Darrel loved being outdoors hunting & fishing, and enjoyed traveling to Colorado on several hunting trips. Later in life Darrel began golfing and loved to spend a summer afternoon on the golf course. His family was always very important to Darrel and he enjoyed spending time with them whenever possible.

Darrel is survived by his daughter, Jamie (Steve France "Frenchy") Rugg, his son, Dan (Becky) Rugg, three sisters, Michele Schaffer, Sheila (Steve) McDiarmid, Helen (Pat) Diamond, four brothers, Terry (Lorry) Rugg, Ed (Karen) Rugg, Mike (Sharon) Rugg, Brian Rugg, grandchildren Sara Robinson & Patrick Rugg and dozens of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Mark & Gordon Rugg.
Memorial Service will be held at The Daniels Funeral Home, Nashville, MI, at 1 PM on Saturday, November 5th, with Pastor Don Francis officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 AM until service time. There will be a time of refreshment and light luncheon immediately following the memorial service at the funeral home.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family of Darrel Rugg.
