Life Story for Joyce A. Reed

Joyce A. Reed

Ms. Joyce A. Reed, age 71, of Vermontville passed away Friday, November 6th, 2015 in Charlotte, MI.

Joyce was born in Charlotte, MI on October 1, 1944, the daughter of the late Vern H. and Iva A. (Williams) Reed. She was raised in the Vermontville area and attended local schools graduating from Vermontville High School in 1962.

Joyce's family was always her first priority, and spending time with them was time she cherished especially during the holidays. When she was younger, Joyce was crowned the Vermontville Maple Syrup Queen. This began a tradition in the family, and over the years several other young lady's in the family have also been part of the Syrup Festival "Royalty". Joyce loved animals and each of her pets have been rescued from the local animal shelters, including her cat "Joey". After she retired she enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

Joyce has been employed at Hastings Mutual in the processing department for 14 years before she retired in 2014.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Kim (Myers) Rodriguez, two sons T.R. (Maryellen) Myers, Mark (Patty) Myers, and her brother Vern (Marilyn) Reed II, 11 grandchildren 3 great granchildren, and brother in-law Donald Gaedert. She was preceded in death by her sister Natalie Gaedert,

Funeral Services will be held at The Daniels Funeral Home, Nashville, MI, at 3 PM on Wednesday, November 11th, with Dan McClintock officiating.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday November 10, 2015 from 6-8 PM and again Wednesday November 11th form 1-3 PM at The Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Barry County Humane Society.
