Life Story for Frank Scramlin

Frank Scramlin

Mr. Frank Scramlin, age 86, of Nashville passed away Thursday, October 22nd, 2015 at
Eaton Community Palliative Care, in Charlotte, MI.

Frank was born in Climax, MI on September 13, 1929, the son of the
late Glen A. and Donna G. (Reinbold) Scramlin. Frank attended local schools in Climax graduating from Climax High School in 1948. While in High School, Frank played football on a 6 man football team, and played in the marching band at half time. After graduating from high school, Frank attended college through the Army ROTC Program from 1948 - 1952, then served in the United States Army where he was in charge of training troops in the 82nd airborne division for combat missions during the Korean War. Although he never participated in combat missions, his unit was present during a visit by General George McArthur to Lansing. Frank completed his service time and was honorably discharged in 1956.

In March of 1958, Frank married Darlene (Rice) Scramlin. Frank always had a very keen eye for numbers and began his working career in 1956 at Security National Bank in Battle Creek. He was promoted to Branch Manager, at the Nashville location in 1962 and shortly thereafter the family relocated to Nashville. Frank later took a position with Michigan National Bank in Charlotte as an Assistant Vice President, a position he held for over 15 years before retiring in 1971. Even after retiring, Frank kept himself involved working annually for H&R Block.

Frank is survived by his daughter, Joni Scramlin, two sons, Rod Scramlin (Cassie Roberts) and Scot Scramlin, his daughter-in-law Marcia Scramlin, his brother, Wendell Scramlin and his cousin, George Reinhold and his extended family, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene, his son Curt and his step-father, Robert Coville.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Monday October 26, 2015 at the Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville. The family will receive visitors on Monday October 26, 2015 from 11am to 1pm.
