Life Story for Steven D. Greenfield

Steven D. Greenfield
Steven Dewayne Greenfield "Buff"

Hastings, MI - Steven D. Greenfield of Hastings passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI.

Steve was born November 17, 1954 the son of Dewayne and Margaret (Matson) Greenfield. Steve Graduated from Hastings High School in 1973. He was on the varsity football team and earned a full ride scholarship to play football at Ferris State University before he unfortunately had a leg injury and could not follow through to college.

IN 1975 Steve married Karen Case with whom they had two sons, Chad Dewayne in 1977 and Eric Steven in 1979. Over the years Steve had several jobs including Flexfab, working for Karen's brother on a farm, Felpausch Foods, Family Fare, Cappon Oil, and Hastings Area Schools, and for three summers in a camp store at Mackinaw Mill Creek Campground.

Steve enjoyed the outdoors; he started hunting at an early age, and passed that love onto his two boys which he shared many hunting seasons with. His other hobbies included camping with "the group", yard work, cutting wood, golfing, and playing basketball with his oldest grandson Easton.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Dwayne in 1966, and his mother, Margaret in 2002, as well as his great niece Sydney Anderson in 2005.

Steve is survived by his son Chad (Melissa) Greenfield, son Eric (Rachel) Greenfield, grandchildren who he loved so much, Easton, Brayden, Aerabella, Sophia, and Preston. His sister Becky (Dennis) Cooney, brother Brad (Shelly) Greenfield, sister Teressa Greenfield, Nancy (Duane) Clow, Terry (Julie) Greenfield, Jerry (Kathy) Greenfield, Sheila (Ron) Prucha, as well as 14 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces, nephews and other close family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at County Chapel Church in Dowling on Friday October 2, 2015 from 5-8 PM. A graveside service will be held at a later date with family and close friends. Per our fathers request, cremation has taken place so there will be no viewing service.

Contributions, if willing, may be made to Country Chapel Church in Dowling, MI. to help with the chicken BBQ in the fall.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville. For further details please visit our website at www. danielsfuneralhome.net
