Life Story for Sandra K. Nealy (Hardman)

On Friday May 8, 2015, Sandra Nealy went home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 8 year battle with Melanoma Cancer. Sandy was born on July 31, 1948 in Battle Creek, MI. Sandy graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1966. Sandy started work at Michigan Bell at the age of 17 and retired at the age of 50. Sandy married John Nealy on May 31, 1980 they would have celebrated 35 years of marriage. They enjoyed camping, mushrooming, fishing and spending time at home. Sandy also enjoyed shopping and going to lunch with her three sisters and mother. Sandy enjoyed painting, doing crafts, gardening and decorating her home, attending church and encouraging others. She was a long time member of Nashville Baptist Church. Sandy was preceded in death by her brother Donald Burdett, father Bernard Hardman, and stepfather Lymon Burdett. She is survived by her beloved husband John Nealy, Mother Shirley Burdett, brother Ronald (Kathy) Burdett, sister Jodie (David) Crawford, Theresa (Darrel) Richards, Vickey (Robert) Stiles, step children Annette Herrick John & Chad Nealy, and many nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Lansing McClaren and the hospice nurses and aides for their compassion and support in Sandy's final days.

Funeral Services will be held at The Nashville Baptist Church, Nashville, MI, at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 11th, with Lester DeGroot officiating. The family will receive visitors on Sunday May 10, 2015 from 6-8 PM at The Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville and also on Monday May 11, 2015 one hour prior the funeral service beginning at 10 AM.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society for Melanoma research.
