Molly M. Westrate

Mrs. Molly M. Westrate, age 64, of Hastings passed away Tuesday, February 24th, 2015 at Thornapple Manor

Molly was born in Hastings, MI on August 9, 1950, the daughter of the late Ray and Barb (Weeks) Todd. She was raised in the Hastings area where she attended local schools graduating from Hastings High School in 1968.

She was the wife of Mr. Norman Westrate. The couple was married May 22, 1982 in Hastings and made their home together in the Hastings area.

Molly worked at Hastings Manufacturing for over 13 years, part time at Hastings Flower Shop, and Steelcase where she worked for 7 years before retiring in 2002. In 1990 Molly was also began a career as a Mary Kay Sales Consultant. He ability to attract and energize other women in the business led to her promotion through the organization where she was ultimately a Sales Director.

Molly enjoyed spending time with her family. When her boys were younger the family enjoyed camping together. During the spring and summer months, she enjoyed taking in the warm weather working around her home planting flowers. For many years, Molly was very active in her church music program, singing in the choir and making music with her friends. Along with family and close friends, Molly & Norm enjoyed country dancing for several years and where members of the Michigan Two Steppers. Throughout the years she and her husband enjoyed traveling, visiting destinations in the Caribbean Islands, taking several cruises, and visiting friends in Florida

Molly is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years Norm, two sons Jim Kaufman, Rick (Angela) Weedall Jr., two sisters, Karen (Paul) McClurkin, Laura (Marshall) Pierson, Stepfather Wendall Todd, 6 grandchildren, Kristina, Katie, Tesla, Carleigh, Steven, & Tyler, 4 great grandchildren Tiana, Joslin, Jacob & Jayden.

She was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Todd, and father Ray Boise, and step brother Michael Todd,

Funeral Services will be held at The Daniels Funeral Home, Nashville, MI, at 2 PM on Tuesday, March 3rd, with Pastor Dan Beyer officiating. The family will receive visitors for a time of fellowship and luncheon 2 hours prior to the funeral service beginning at 12 Noon on Tuesday March 3, 2015 at The Daniels Funeral Home. Immediately following the funeral services friends and family are invited to remain at the funeral home, for fellowship and luncheon.

Interment will take place privately at Hastings Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family of Molly Westrate.
