Life Story for Wallace V. McCrimmon

Wallace V. McCrimmon

Mr. Wallace V. McCrimmon age 85 of Vermontville, passed away Saturday, Augest 30th, 2014 at Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek, Mi.

Wallace was born in Marion, Mi. on June 22, 1929, the son of the late Charles and Halla (Hartzog) McCrimmon. He was raised in Marion, Mi. where he attended school.

He was the widower of Jeanette (Egts) McCrimmon. The couple married May 17th, 1948, and made their home in the Marion and Vermontville area. The couple were married 47 years when Jeanette passed away in February 1996.

Wallace was a member of the Merchant Marine from July 7, 1947 until his discharge in 1948. He than worked for several farmers before moving to Vermontville. He worked at Charlotte Chair Co. from 1959 through 1977 where he was foreman and set-up person. In 1977 Wallace went to work for Ionia State Prison as a supervisor until he retired in July 1991.

In 1974 he and his wife started going to Canada fishing, enjoying many years with family and friends. They eventually took their camper and set up camp at several lodges where they would stay all summer.

Wallace is survived by his daughter, Linda Rich, of Bellevue,Mi. James (Tammy) McCrimmon of Union City, Mi. and Bruce ( Pamela) McCrimmon of Jacksonville, Fl. 7 Grandchildren, Jon (Jamie) Rich, Lynnette (Tom) Thompson, Gail (Jason) Goodin, Melissa McCrimmon, Jessica McCrimmon, Angela (Sam) Keller, Corey (Angela) McCrimmon, and 9 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Floyd and Irvin McCrimmon and a sister Grace, Grandson Bruce D. McCrimmon Jr, Great Granddaughter, Ashyln Moon, and Son-in-law Jon Rich Sr.

Memorial Services will be held at The Daniels Funeral Home, Nashville, MI. at 1 P.M. on Friday, September 5th, with nephew Pastor Floyd McCrimmon officiating.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday September 4th, from 6 - 8 and Friday September 5th, from 11 am through 1 pm.

Interment will take place privately at Woodlawn Cemetery in Vermontville, Mi.on Saturday, September 6th.

Memorial contributions can be made to Eaton Community Palliative Care in Charlotte, Mi.
